It is an exciting time to be a part of the Putnam County Historical Society & Foundry School Museum (PCHS–FSM). The museum is abuzz with new exhibitions, educational activities and special events for the history-lovers among us, a community that is stronger than ever.
What’s all the buzz about?
In March, members and friends toasted Philipstown historian Donald H. MacDonald at the opening the exhibition A Ramble through the Hudson Highlands. In April, our annual meeting was standing room only, featuring the authors of Hudson Valley Ruins as keynote speakers. In early May, the Young Associates hosted a beautiful spring evening of food, drink, friendship, and learning, featuring guest speakers on local gardening techniques. In July, our Family Festival gathered crowds who enjoyed music, puppet shows and historic crafts.
Support Local History
The PCHS–FSM community not only provides a social fabric, it also supports our museum and library. Membership dues fund all aspects of museum operation, including exhibitions, collections, publications, education, and outreach. Our members make the preservation and interpretation of local history possible.
